Disagreement
The two have a different opinion about Douwe Bob’s performance at The Orange Summer on Sunday. Van der Gijp didn’t like it at all, Derksen did. “I don’t know what you’re saying. It was fantastic that Douwe Bob. He was a real singer”, Derksen thought.
Van der Gijp and Wilfred Genee disagree and enter into a discussion with him. “Ultimately, it’s all about what you like yourself,” Genee concludes. “Then I have to leave here immediately,” Johan responds. “You don’t like this program anymore, do you Johan,” Van der Gijp incites. Derksen can only agree.
Fuses
Why does Derksen still show up at work every day? “I have a contract,” he says. However, the program is no longer his thing in terms of content. He finds the topics, which he is not allowed to decide on, ‘offensive’ and ‘not topical enough’. “I’ve been here for 26 years, but I don’t have a damn thing to say about anything. Not the choice of topics, not the people sitting at the table,” he explains. “If you don’t feel like it anymore, then we should stop,” Van der Gijp thinks.
Childish
Van der Gijp is done with Derksen’s statements. “We are adults, man. You are becoming a childish old man who likes to talk. I think you are a nice guy, but don’t be so difficult, man.” Later, there is more laughter at the table. Genee ends the broadcast by asking whether he should empty his dressing room. “It was September 23, a special day. Johan, maybe see you tomorrow. And if not, then don’t.”
