Johan admits that he does not understand everything. “But I do have an opinion about everything. That’s why I think that VI Today is not a talk show either, but an opinion show. The talk shows are full of extremists, because there must be fireworks on TV. Ordinary Dutch people never have their say. We are the voice of the silent majority and we take care of the fireworks ourselves,” says Johan.

The football analyst was protected for a longer period of time, because there would be a threat. He was given a personal security guard, had to carry a panic button and also had to change cars on the way to the television studio. In the end, according to him, there was little going on and the security was therefore also stopped. Johan does not intend to keep his mouth shut. “We just say what we think. That’s our charm: if you swallow something, you destroy the entire format. I’m not interested in what crazy people think of me. If I start talking with the handbrake on because of reactions, then stay I home.”
Criminal lawyer Clarice Stenger also indicated earlier that she thought that Johan should receive protection.
