Johan Derksen is very disappointed with the departure of Marco Louwerens from Talpa. The figurehead of Today Inside wants nothing to do with Frans Klein, the new channel boss.
According to Derksen, the departure of Louwerens is a loss for Talpa. “He was the stable factor in our program all those years. It was no fun for him to work with us for twenty years. We have rather swollen egos and we have an amazing chemistry at the table, but we have nothing else in common . All three of us even have a different opinion about how the program should be filled in,” says Derksen in a video item from The Orange Summer.

If there was anything, Louwerens could be called day and night, according to Derksen. “Then he came, there was talk and it was out of the world again. Now that he is gone, the stability of the program is shaky, because traditionally we have a riot twice a year. I cannot imagine that Frans Klein, who I completely does not know, comes in to solve the problem. He does not know us and does not know our instructions for use. That will not work. We are not waiting for Frans Klein at all, we want Marco.”
Derksen has not spoken to Klein to date. “But I have nothing to do with him either. I hope that John will let him read our contract, which states that the management of Talpa is not allowed to interfere with the content of the program. I am blank towards him as a person, but have nothing to do with Frans Klein,” Derksen continues. “If a difference of opinion escalates now, the program will be in jeopardy. They should have always kept Marco in it. René also had a very good relationship with Marco and he is not one of those who immediately has a good relationship with someone.”
