“Our country, the place we call home, has become extra important in these times. And there is still a surprising amount to discover there too. You don’t always have to travel far to see something new; often surprise is just around the corner, “says the 41-year-old presenter about the coming season.
Johan Derksen, for example, takes the viewers to his favorite province: Drenthe. The journey starts in Johan’s hometown Grolloo and leads via a moped tour past his parental home and youth football club, the Hunebed Highway and a tour of the Assen circuit to a prison cell in Veenhuizen. Derksen has been a guest in the program before Where is the mole? and even got a tattoo while traveling through Texas. “My wife did not know what she saw,” he said at the time. “I’m not into tattoos at all, but little De Mol got me so crazy.”
Together with politician Sylvana Simons, De Mol will explore North Holland, the province where Simons lived with her parents as a baby when she came to the Netherlands from Suriname. In addition to Derksen and Simons, Gordon and Sergio Herman will also be guests next season. The other participants will be announced at a later time.
