It was P4 Skaraborg who revealed on Wednesday that Johan Abrahamsson, chairman of the municipal board in Mariestad and chairman of the Moderates in Västra Götaland, has shared images in a private chat for several years that can be considered to have sexist, racist and homophobic content.
“Completely ordinary bush humor” he himself initially called it, but then backtracked in a post on his Facebook page.
P4 Skaraborg has sought several local politicians to get a comment, but most have hung up.
However, Gullspång municipal councilor Björn Thodenius (M) is speaking out. And he is strongly critical.
– It is completely unacceptable. Without judgment I would say.
The M-rådet in Gullspång claims that it cannot be blamed for the fact that it is about bushis and boys’ humor.
– Of course, there are pictures that appear on the internet. But as a politician, you have to think about what you do and don’t do. As a politician, you are never private.
At Johan Abrahamssons There is a lively discussion on the Facebook page about the photos. He gets lots of support, but also backstabbing.
Here are two examples:
“How tired I get. We have more important things to take care of. Who can bear to bother, fight Johan Abrahamsson. You are doing a great job keep it up.”
“There is no defense for what you and your former politician colleague shared between you. You are in the trust business. This is not bush humor, it is simply inappropriate. Embarrassing to see the backstabbing you are getting, it just shows how far the normalization of racism, sexism and LGBTQI hate has gone. Shame.”
The moderates have strong voter support in Mariestad and Johan Abrahamsson is a well-known politician.
M received 43 percent of the votes in the 2022 municipal election and 37 percent of the moderate voters personally crossed Johan Abrahamsson.
Dagens Samhälle is looking for Johan Abrahamsson for a comment.
