jpnn.com, SURABAYA – Community elements from 31 sub-districts in the City Surabaya forming the Jogoboyo Community.
They stated that they were ready to assist the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, in an effort to protect the capital city of East Java Province from acts of anarchism.
“We (the Jogoboyo Community, red) don’t want this city to be damaged again, we don’t want the mayor to be revived, that’s why we got up and formed this community to jointly help Bu Risma protect Surabaya from anarchism,” said Jogoboyo Community Coordinator Kusnan when meeting. Mayor of Risma at his official residence, Friday (16/10).
Kusnan said the Jogoboyo community consists of various elements of society spread across 31 sub-districts in the city of Surabaya.
This community was formed because the Suroboyo areknies felt discouraged because they saw the Mayor of Risma at night go straight to the streets to clean up rubbish and items damaged by the mass anarchist demonstrations some time ago.
“So, the hearts of the Suroboyo people were crying, they couldn’t bear to see Mrs. Risma until late at night cleaning up the rubbish of anarchist acts, which turned out to be that they were not Arek Suroboyo, but came from out of town,” said Kusnan.
He also emphasized that he did not prohibit demonstrations in the city of Surabaya because that was the right of citizens protected by law.
However, he continued, if the demonstration was anarchist and damaged Surabaya’s public facilities, then Surabaya residents who are members of this community are ready to intercept.
