JOG Group Acquires Chasin’ Jeans Brand from Bankrupt Score Clothing Chain

The stores of Chasin’, the jeans brand of the bankrupt clothing chain Score, will continue under a new owner. The JOG Group, known for Jeans Centre, among others, is also taking over the associated wholesaler and web shop.

“Together we can create strong synergy and further increase the reach of the brand,” says JOG CEO Mark Hommelberg on LinkedIn. Exactly how many Chasin’ branches he wants to continue with and what his plans mean for maintaining employment is not yet known.

Score, whose first store opened in 1981, was declared bankrupt by the court in Zutphen last month. Chasin’ also fell under the bankruptcy. At the time of the bankruptcy, both chains together had more than fifty stores in the Netherlands, an online store and outlets in other stores abroad. A total of about 450 people worked at the clothing stores.

Copper JOG Group is a fast growing international fashion company. The company already has a chain in Jeans Center with approximately one hundred stores in the Netherlands. Fashion brand GARCIA, good for more than 2,500 points of sale worldwide, is also part of the company.

Whether there is also a restart for Score itself is not yet clear. Curator Coen Houtman said earlier that several parties had already expressed interest in a takeover. He did, however, hold a blow to the arm. “Because not everyone who actually reports will get to the next stage.” Houtman could not be reached for comment on Sunday.
