The plan period is seven years from 2024 to 2030. The 100th Kenshin Festival will be held in 2025, and the 500th anniversary of Uesugi Kenshin’s birth will be celebrated in 2030. Mayor Nakagawa said, “First of all, we will definitely move forward with Kasugayama Castle and Prince Uesugi Kenshin,” indicating his intention to move forward with the project from next year.
Additionally, according to the draft plan, general vehicles will be prohibited from entering the area around the Kasugayama Castle ruins, and the area is designated as a “sacred area that cannot be accessed casually.” Mayor Nakagawa also explained at the press conference, “It would be strange to call it the apotheosis of Kasugayama Castle, but I would like to think of it as a special area.”
Seven-year plan: “It has nothing to do with my term of office.”
Additionally, the period of the year-round tourism plan is for seven years until 2030, but Mayor Nakagawa’s term will not end until November 2025.
