Former defender and idol of Botafogo, Joel Carli started a new career project, this time off the field, since retiring in June this year. Initially working as a Training and Transition Specialist, Carli was requested and temporarily held the position of assistant to the professional team. An important link between the Club and athletes, the professional will now perform the role of Football Coordinator, being an active player in the integration between management, technical committee and group of athletes within the department’s daily routines. The manager will also closely monitor youth games to facilitate the young people’s transition to professional football.
“I continue to specialize and try to deliver my best to the Club. I’m eager for challenges and this new role motivates me even more. Management is the path I identify with and want to grow. My total dedication is to contribute to the organizational aspect”, said the new Alvinegro Football Coordinator.
Alvinegro Football Director, André Mazzuco spoke about Joel Carli’s new moment in Club Football.
“Carli is an exceptional person and much of the personality he demonstrated as an athlete is reflected in the new moment in his career. A dedicated professional, very serious on a daily basis and who is certainly a great contributor to Botafogo. It is a process that has been built together since the first day after his retirement from the field, from the period he was closest to the entire training categories, until now, being a right-hand man of the football department”, concluded Mazzuco.
