Joe Biden’s symptoms ‘improved’ after COVID-19 treatment: White House – Xinhua English.news.cn

WASHINGTON, July 22 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 symptoms “have improved” after the first full day of treatment, the White House doctor said Friday.

Thursday night, Joe Biden had a temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius and he took Tylenol, a molecule that fights fever, according to a note from doctor Kevin O’Connor.

“His temperature has since remained normal,” Mr O’Connor wrote, adding that his symptoms remained characterized by a runny nose, fatigue and a “mild” cough.

Mr. Biden’s voice is deeper Friday morning and his pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation are all normal on room air, the doctor said.

Mr. O’Connor noted that Mr. Biden is “tolerating the treatment well” and would continue to take Paxlovid, an antiviral treatment produced by Pfizer and given to patients with COVID-19.

Mr Biden, 79, tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday morning, with “mild symptoms”, according to the White House. He was fully vaccinated and received two boosters. End
