Joe Biden made a mistake this Wednesday in front of White House reporters by declaring that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “losing the war in Iraq”, when he wanted to talk about Ukraine.
Shortly before his departure for a trip to Chicago, the American president was asked about the impact of the aborted mutiny of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner.
“It’s really hard to say”replied Joe Biden. “But he’s clearly losing the war in Iraq. He’s losing the war at home and he’s become something of a pariah around the world.”
On Tuesday evening, the US president, who is 80 and plans to run for re-election in 2024, apologized at a campaign fundraising meeting for confusing China and India then that he was referring to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Washington.
Too old to rule
A Reuters/Ipsos poll taken from April 21 to 24 showed that 73% of Americans polled considered Joe Biden too old to govern.
A majority of Democrats (63%) shared this view.
Joe Biden’s doctor declared the US president healthy and fit for office after a health exam last February.
