The rapidly growing AI technology creates both opportunities and concerns for the film and entertainment industry. Even Joe Biden raised the issue in his annual speech and emphasized that he wants to see a series of restrictions on how the technology should be used. Among other things, he promises a ban on AI voice imitations – if he is re-elected as president this fall, reports Variety.
However, Joe Biden did not elaborate on how the ban would be enforced and whether the use of voice imitations could become a criminal offence. He also did not want to say whether the ban should also extend to the entertainment industry.
Recently, Joe Biden himself has become a victim of the progress of AI technology. In January, police in the US state of New Hampshire received disturbing reports that the president’s voice had been used to make fake calls, wrote AP Earlier this year.
