Beau Biden (b. 1969)
The eldest son of Joe Biden and his late first wife Neilia died of a brain tumor in May 2015 at the age of 46. He left behind his wife Hallie and two children. “Beau Biden was quite simply the best man we have ever known,” said Joe Biden, describing the loss in an official statement. In a speech the day before his inauguration as US President, he remembered his son again – with tears.

Robert “Hunter” Biden (1970)
Hunter Biden is a lawyer, business lobbyist, and self-proclaimed artist. His real name is Robert, his nickname Hunter is the maiden name of his late mother Neilia. Hunter has struggled with alcohol and cocaine addiction in the past; went to rehab several times. He was targeted by the press in October 2020 for doing business in Ukraine, in which he allegedly took advantage of his father’s position as Vice President (2009 to 2017). However, criminal activity could not be proven. In December 2020 there was new trouble: The US prosecutor announced that they were investigating Hunter Biden. The accusation: He is said to have evaded taxes on business with China.

Hunter Biden’s personal life is also making headlines: in 2015, he separated from his wife Kathleen, the mother of his three daughters, and got together with his brother Beau’s widow. The family accepted the relationship. In May 2019, it was announced that the couple had split up. Hunter Biden became a father again in August 2018. He only recognized the child after a positive paternity test. He has no contact with either the mother or the offspring. In May 2019, Hunter Biden married Melissa Cohen – just six days after they met. The couple has a son.

Naomi Biden (born 1971)
Naomi and her mother, Neilia, Joe Biden’s first wife, died in a car accident in December 1972.
Ashley Biden (geb. 1981)
Ashley is the only daughter of Joe Biden and Jill Biden. She is a studied anthropologist and social worker. In 2017, two years after the death of her brother Beau, she founded the sweatshirt label Livelihood as a tribute to him. The proceeds flow into social projects. Ashley Biden has been married to plastic surgeon Howard Kerin since 2012. Although she accompanied her father to political events from time to time, she stayed more private until Joe Biden was elected US President in November 2020. After that, she opened her Instagram account to the public.

Natalie Biden (born 2004) and Robert Biden II (born 2006), children of Beau Biden
Natalie is the daughter of the late Beau Biden. Though Natalie keeps it a little more private than her cousins, she stood up for her grandfather in the 2020 election and spoke to Finnegan, Maisy and Natalie about their grandparents at the Democratic Party’s digital convention. Jill was a “prankster,” Natalie said at the time. She likes to play pranks and sometimes pick up dead snakes to scare someone. Natalie’s younger brother Robert is named after his uncle Hunter’s first name.

Naomi Biden (born 1993)
Hunter Biden and ex-wife Kathleen have three daughters. The oldest is Naomi. She was named after her aunt, who died in 1972, and graduated from Columbia Law School. During her previous studies at the University of Pennsylvania, she was a fellow student of Tiffany Trump, a daughter of Donald Trump. During the election campaign in August 2020, she chatted that Joe Biden was nibbling ice cream straight from the pack – to the displeasure of Jill Biden.
Finnegan Biden (geboren 2000)
Hunter and Kathleen’s middle daughter is named after her great grandmother. Finnegan was seen regularly during her grandfather’s campaign event.
Maisy Biden (born 2001)
The third in the group is Maisy – a real fan of Joe Biden. She stood by him not only during the 2020 presidential election, but also during his tenure as Vice President (2009 to 2017). At that time Maisy accompanied her grandfather on some official trips. Maisy is successful under the pseudonym “scoobeydoobey” on the social media platform “TikTok”; 145,000 people follow her there.
Joe Biden revealed a secret about the young woman in June 2019 according to “The Hill” at an event in Iowa: Her best friend was her schoolmate Sasha Obama, the daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama. The two families attended the girls’ graduation from the Sidwell Friends School in Washington a few days earlier and then held a get-together, Biden said at the time.
More grandchildren
Hunter Biden has two more children with other women: A daughter (born 2018) comes from a relationship with Lunden Alexis Roberts. Hunter has been married to Melissa Cohen since May 2019. In 2020 they became parents of a son. The names of the children are not known.
