WASHINGTON (Nettavisen) Late Monday night, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will be one of the first international leaders to meet with President Joe Biden at the White House.

Good relationship
But Stoltenberg also has a good relationship with American presidents.
Stoltenberg received support from Barack Obama when he first got the job as Secretary General of NATO, and later President Donald Trump also spoke warmly about the Norwegian NATO chief. From before, Stoltenberg and Biden have talked together on several occasions on the phone, which shows the close relationship between the two.
– I want to thank you for your leadership and your personal diplomacy over the last few years. You have been invaluable, Biden said in connection with a telephone conversation the two had in January this year.
Everything is in place for a close and close relationship between the two in the beginning Biden’s presidency and until Stoltenberg will retire in 2022.

Summit
The purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the NATO summit on 14 June in Brussels and Stoltenberg’s strategy changes for NATO over the next decade.
Stoltenberg has recently met several heads of state ahead of the defense alliance’s summit in Brussels in just under two weeks. At the summit, the leaders of the member states will adopt the NATO 2030 reform package, where climate change is also a theme.
