President of the United States (US) Joe Biden had undergone surgery to remove skin cancer cells. The White House doctor, Kevin O’Connor, also revealed Biden’s condition after removing the skin cancer cells.
Reported AFP and ReutersSunday (5/3/2023), the operation was carried out Biden on February 16, 2023. O’Connor said that all of the cancerous tissue had been successfully removed.
O’Connor revealed that the operation was performed on basal cells in Biden’s chest. He also confirmed that the president has now recovered and continued regular skin checks.
Biden is also said to be continuing dermatology supervision as part of his health care. However, O’Connor ensured that Biden has now recovered.
“He’s healing well and the president will continue dermatology supervision as part of his ongoing comprehensive healthcare,” O’Connor said.
The cancer cells were detected during Biden’s routine medical examination. Basal cell is a form of cancer that is usually harmless.
“President Biden remains a healthy, strong, 80-year-old man capable of carrying out the duties of the presidency successfully, including as Chief Executive, Head of State, and Commander-in-Chief,” O’Connor said, in February after Biden’s health check.
Last February, Biden did the series of medical tests he started last year at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
O’Connor at the time wrote that the president had spent “a lot of time in the sun in his youth” and that he had been treated regularly for localized non-melanoma skin cancer.
