The President of the United States had a “small” cancerous skin lesion removed in February. Nothing alarming, but the health of the oldest president in American history is still a subject of controversy.
“No additional treatment is necessary” assured the White House doctor in his report on the state of health of the president made public. The results had been expected since Joe Biden’s last health check. Doctors had removed a lesion and were awaiting confirmation of the biopsy which arrived on Friday March 3. The lesion is indeed cancerous but “all the cancerous tissue had been successfully removed”.
A minor lesion
The lesion had been detected and directly removed on February 16 during a simple routine examination. The White House doctor wanted to be reassuring. The lesion “does not tend to spread or metastasize”. It is not a form of serious skin cancer, like melanoma.
What’s more, Joe Biden has already been operated on for this type of cancer in the past. He “spent a lot of time in the sun during his youth,” said the doctor, which explains the appearance of these lesions. The one that was removed from him in February has also healed well.
His age and health attacked
Joe Biden’s state of health is therefore nothing to worry about. The latter had undergone a complete examination on February 16. He had been deemed “in good health”, “vigorous” and “fit” to fulfill his presidential duties. The oldest president of the United States suffers from a few minor ailments, treated with three drugs.
Despite these elements and reassuring report, the 80-year-old president is regularly attacked both on his age and his physical and mental condition. While he is a candidate for re-election for 2024, he continues to be accused of having lost his mind due to certain moments of confusion and his broken speech. But regular medical reports assure Joe Biden’s state of form.
