Joe Biden, Barack Obama | President Biden drops Obama’s controversial 60-year-old on luxury real estate

– If this had been Trump, there would have been an outcry from the left, angry Republicans.

On Wednesday, August 4, former President Barack Obama turns 60 years old. According to American media, the birthday will be celebrated next weekend on a luxury property that the Obama couple allegedly bought in 2019.

The website Axios, quoting an anonymous source linked to the Obama family, writes that there are 475 confirmed guests in the birthday party. Many of them will be A-list celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Steven Spielberg.

The nineties band Pearl Jam is supposed to perform in the company.

The White House, however, confirms that President Joe Biden will shine with his absence during the birthday celebration of his former boss. As is well known, Biden was Obama’s vice president.

“Although President Biden does not have the opportunity to come this weekend, he looks forward to meeting former President Obama soon, and in a decent way welcoming him to those over the 60 club,” an official in the White House told The Hill.

The birthday party is being held at the same time as there is a growing fear of the spread of the Delta variant in the USA.

Obama’s property is located on Martha’s Vineyard on the south coast of Cape Cod in the state of Massachusetts. The Obama couple reportedly paid twelve million dollars for the property.

Controversial company

Although the birthday party will be held outdoors, the Obama couple have been criticized for gathering so many people in the middle of a pandemic, writes New York Post. According to the same newspaper, there will be 475 guests and a staff of 200 who will serve the birthday guests.

According to American media, the Obama couple will encourage guests to take a negative corona test before they arrive at the company. In addition, the hosts will comply with the authorities’ guidelines, as well as have their own safety coordinator who ensures that the infection control rules are complied with.

However, the news of the birthday celebration is poorly received by critical voices in the Republican Party.

– The Democrats impose an unscientific bandage ban while considering several shutdowns. At the same time, Obama is holding a party for over 500 elite guests at his mansion in Martha’s Vineyard, Republican and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik said in a statement, according to the New York Post.

– If this was Trump, there would have been an outcry

Republican Nicole Malliotakis, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, says that while there are exceptions for Democrats like Obama, Republicans would have been ashamed if they had arranged a similar party.

– In the same way as Obama, all Americans should be allowed to celebrate their major milestones without arbitrary mandates and interference from the state. Everyone knows that if this had been Trump, there would have been outcry from the entire left, Malliotakis told the New York Post.

Republican and Congressman Andy Biggs wrote something similar on Twitter: “Just imagine what would have happened if this company was for Trump.”

Outdoor company

White House Chief of Staff Jen Psaki was asked on Monday if Obama was showing poor judgment and set a bad example by holding a large birthday party with hundreds of guests in the midst of the pandemic.

Psaki, who also worked in the Obama administration, defended his former boss, saying that Obama is taking a number of precautions in connection with the company.

“Obama has been a big supporter of individuals getting vaccinated,” Psaki said CNN.

– The guidelines of the CDC (American Infection Control Agency) apply to indoor events and to areas with a high number of cases of infection. This event takes place outdoors and in a moderate area, Psaki said.

Obama does not want any gifts at the birthday party, and instead encourages guests to donate money to charity.
