First return to Delaware. Joe Biden flew aboard Air Force One for the first time as US president on Friday. The Democrat traveled to Delaware, where his wife Jill was already. The goal of this return: “To see my grandchildren and spend time with Jill to collect the rest of the stuff that we have to move from our house to the other house,” he told reporters. The other house in question is … the White House. Joe Biden took advantage of his visit to Delaware to go to the doctor and have exams to verify that the small fractures he had made in his foot, while playing with his dog at the end of November, were well healed. This is the case, allowing Joe Biden to “resume his rhythm of sports exercise”, in the words of the doctor quoted by the White House. On Sunday, he was seen leaving mass with his granddaughter Natalie, the daughter of his late son Beau. Two demonstrators were in front of the church and waving a sign: “Joe Biden = abortion, euthanasia and infanticide”.
In the evening, a recorded message with his wife Jill Biden was broadcast during the Super Bowl, the final of the American football championship. They called on the public to respect a minute of silence in memory of the 463,000 American victims of the Covid-19. During the match, Joe Biden called soldiers watching the event from Kabul and aboard the USS Nimitz, an aircraft carrier deployed in the Middle East, “to thank them for their service.”
Every year service members around the world gather to watch the Super Bowl — and tonight, I called into watch parties in Kabul and on the USS Nimitz to thank them for their service. We are forever in debt to those who sacrifice so much to keep us safe. pic.twitter.com/kVmVm8BekS
