After a first telephone conversation, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and the President of the United States, Joe Biden, promised to strengthen ties and combat climate change, in addition to promoting an alliance for a green and sustainable recovery against Covid- 19.

Through his Twitter account, the British minister congratulated the American on his inauguration, where he tweeted a photo of him laughing and talking on the phone, stating that it was great to talk with the president, as well as taking the opportunity to strengthen alliances between both nations.

Great talking to President @JoeBiden tonight. I look forward to deepening the long-standing partnership between our two countries as we drive a green and sustainable recovery from COVID-19, “he said.

A spokesman for the British official residence reported that Johnson congratulated Biden for making the decision to reincorporate the United States to the Paris Agreement, in relation to climate change and for not abandoning the World Health Organization, also praised the quick action to deal with these situations.

Likewise, both leaders discussed mutual cooperation in matters of security and defense, in terms of their commitment to the Atlantic Alliance, as well as shared values ​​in the promotion of human rights and democracy.
