Jochen Goetz, CFO of Daimler Truck, died unexpectedly on Saturday at the age of 52. The manager “died in a tragic accident,” the company announced last night. Further details are currently unknown.
Jochen Goetz has been on the board of Daimler Truck Holding for two years and was responsible for finance and controlling, for purchasing non-production materials and services, and for IT. He was born in Rastatt, Baden-Württemberg. After school in Gaggenau and training at what was then Mercedes-Benz AG as an industrial clerk, Goetz completed a part-time course of business administration from 1994 to 1998, graduating with a VWA business administration degree.
Goetz spent his entire professional career over 36 years in the Daimler Group. Among other things, he worked in controlling in the Unimog division and at Mercedes-Benz Trucks. After further career stages, in 2012 he became Director Finance & Controlling Trucks NAFTA at Daimler Trucks North America in Oregon. In 2015, Jochen Goetz moved from a position at Mercedes-Benz Cars back to the commercial vehicle division as Vice President Finance & Controlling Daimler Trucks and Buses. After being appointed Executive Vice President Finance & Controlling Daimler Trucks & Buses, Jochen Goetz was appointed to the Board of Directors of Daimler Truck Holding AG in July 2021 and took over responsibility for finance and controlling. In this role, he also played a key role in the spin-off of the truck division from the passenger car division in the Daimler Group and the IPO last year.
