WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) – U.S. jobless claims fell more than expected in the week to March 11, to 192,000 from a revised 212,000 the previous week, the Labor Department said on Thursday.
Economists expected an average of 205,000 jobless claims.
Registrations for the previous week were revised up slightly from an initial estimate of 211,000.
The four-week moving average stands at 196,500 against 197,250 (revised) the previous week.
The number of people regularly receiving benefits rose to 1.684 million during the week to March 4 (last week for which these figures are available) against 1.713 million the previous week. (Lucia Mutikani, French version Laetitia Volga, edited by Kate Entringer)
