Diocesan Caritas of Mondoñedo-Ferrol is the official body of the Church in the Diocese of Mondoñedo-Ferrol established to promote, coordinate, enhance and guide the charitable and social action of the Church in said diocese, in order to express the Church’s preference for people in need and favor with this human fraternity, from the love of Christ.

Diocesan Caritas develops its socio-charitable action through volunteers, who together with professionals constitute the solidarity network in constant and preferential action for the poorest and most excluded people.

To continue developing your action you need to incorporate into the area of ​​the Lucense Navy a person who holds the position of SOCIAL ACTION TECHNICIAN IN THE TERRITORYthe Mission of this position being to guarantee that the social action of Cáritas Diocesana de Mondoñedo – Ferrol is developed in coherence with the values ​​of Cáritas: Centrality in the person, Participation and Spirit of Improvement.

Principal functions:

Social action

Participate in CDMF meetings and CDMF programming actions, development and social and economic justification of social action program projects in the territory.

In the field of reception and social emergency:

Ensure access to the public social protection service within the reception.

Support in the reception, assessment and social intervention in cases of special complexity and vulnerability such as situations of gender violence, situations of risk and lack of protection of minors, situations of disability that limit the autonomy of the person that require technical knowledge and resources of the professional person.

Support in the management of aid and documentation/administrative procedures.

Ensure the continuous analysis of the reality of the assigned areas that it accompanies, as well as develop action plans derived from this analysis in coordination with the coordination of social action and the CCPP.

In the field of community animation:

Promote the implementation of grassroots socio-educational workshops; promote periodic meetings with a facilitator who encourages the creation of meeting spaces and social friendship that allow horizontal relationships between volunteers and participants. Promote the visibility of these spaces and encourage the participation of the parish community and society in general.

In the field of employment:

Participate in the monitoring and assessment of the socio-labor inclusion itineraries in coordination with the technical people in the area of ​​training and socio-labor insertion, legal advice on immigration and the parish Caritas that accompanies. Promote employment actions in the Parish Caritas, as well as the monitoring of said actions in the territory.

In the field of childhood:

Promote, coordinate and monitor the socio-educational reinforcement activities in the CCPP that it accompanies, under the guidelines and directives set by the person responsible for childhood and family of CDMOF and the coordination of social action.

In the field of socio-educational activities:

Promote, coordinate and monitor adult activities (socio-educational workshops) in the CCPP that accompanies, in coordination with the person responsible for social action.

In the area of ​​​​adults:

Promote, in coordination with the person responsible for the program, the creation of new activities, new groups and the monitoring of the participants from the program in the CCPPs that it accompanies, all following the guidelines set by the person responsible for the seniors program.

In the housing field:

Accompaniment through an itinerary of inclusion of people and families who access emergency housing in the territory it accompanies, as well as coordination with the CCPP volunteers who participate in the accompaniment of these homes.

Ensure the registration of intervention data in the confederal computer system and the updating of information in the accompanied CCPPs.

Ensure the management of volunteer documentation and keep the registry and associated documents updated in the confederal computer system.

Facilitate indicators and results of the activities developed in the CCPP that accompanies the various services and programs.

Training:

Ensure the initial training of new volunteer groups following the training guidelines established by the management team. Ensure the participation of new volunteers in the annual training meeting, as well as promote the training of new volunteers in the sessions and meetings developed by Cáritas in Galicia and Cáritas Española.

Internal organization and impact of social action:

Accompany the CCPP teams in their internal organization and identification of functions following the statutes, their organization and monitoring of social action, as well as ensuring the creation of meeting and care spaces for volunteers and the team in which being able to share the impact of action on personal development.

Communication:

Facilitate upward and downward communication between social action technical people responsible for programs, people participating in social action programs and volunteers.

Ensure that information on the actions for which you are responsible reaches the people responsible for communication on time.

Requirements of candidates:

Degree or diploma in social education, without ruling out any university degree, preferably in the social field. Minimum 1 years of previous professional experience working with exclusion groups and/or social action entities. Basic knowledge of project planning, programming and evaluation. Knowledge of community participation and/or animation Languages: Galician: it is highly desirable that you know how to speak and write it. English: desirable. Others: not contemplated. Computer Science: Advanced user of computer programs and applications. Driving license type B.
