During the interview that lasted two and a half hours, Rue de Grenelle remembered that developments were still possible in the parliamentary debate on the budget, while we again justify these big cuts with the reduction in the number of students.
“Conversation of the Deaf”, “Disappointing meeting”… The argument does not go over to the side of the unions who are preparing to submit a strike notice. “The speech of the ministry goes according to the reality on the ground. These are not answers to be heard,” worries Guislaine David, spokesperson for Snuipp-FSU, which has a majority in the first grade, the sector most affected by job cuts.

At the top of the agenda: “the revaluation of the minimum wages, which will include changing, from November, to the public service, the increase in the minimum wage”, in particular those who accompany students with disabilities (AESH) and educational assistants. Still on salary, Rue de Grenelle confirmed what was announced last week when the 2025 budget was presented, namely his desire to speed up “mid-career advancements”, to make these career paths “more attractive “. A degree already proposed in 2022 under Pap Ndiaye.
“We hope that there will be more and more teachers who will have access to the second level and thus improve the index and therefore the pay slip,” said the minister’s office this Wednesday. This would represent increases “from 150 to 350 net euros per month for more than 100,000 teachers by 2027”. “We’ll see what happens, but with the budget, it could be complicated,” fears Guislaine David.

Another project mentioned according to Anne Genetet’s entourage – the trade union groups interviewed say that they were not consulted on this point: “improvement of working conditions and school climate ».
To achieve this, the ministry relies on human reinforcement and ensures that the elimination of teaching positions as part of the 2025 budget will not prevent recruitment elsewhere, among CPEs for example. “It is entirely possible to distribute the competition’s job openings in a different way to add CPE positions,” says the minister’s office.
For David Lelong, from SE-Unsa, this meeting was above all “an opportunity to show the unity of the teaching unions against a situation that scandalizes them, without finding a real connection with the office of the minister”. A multilateral audience with all the union groups will be held on October 21 “to prepare for the 2025 school year”, it was announced at the Rochechouart hotel.
