Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have apparently secretly become parents again. The couple was recently spotted in Venice – without a baby bump, but with a baby carrier.
The who’s who of the film industry is currently gathering in Venice to attend the film festival. Joaquin Phoenix, 49, and Rooney Mara, 39, also don’t want to miss the spectacle. However, when they arrive in the lagoon city, their well-kept secret is exposed.

The couple can be seen in paparazzi photos shortly after landing in Venice. The two make their way through the airport in a casual look. While the “Joker: Folie à Deux” star wears a black T-shirt with black trousers and sneakers, his girlfriend has chosen blue jeans, a short coat and ballerina flats.
But what is particularly noticeable is that the actress is no longer hiding her baby bump under her clothes. Instead, she is wearing a large, grey-striped scarf around her shoulders, which covers her left arm and presumably her baby sleeping inside it. The two Hollywood stars have clearly become parents again. The couple have not yet announced any details about the birth, gender or name of their youngest offspring.

The actress showed her baby bump at the Berlinale
The actress never confirmed her pregnancy verbally either. Instead, she showed up at the Berlinale in February with a baby bump. At the premiere of “La Cocina” she posed on the red carpet in a long black dress and placed her hands protectively around her midsection.

Phoenix and Mara have been a couple since 2016 after meeting in 2012 while filming the movie “Her.” They secretly got engaged in 2019. Their first child, son River, 4, named after Joaquin’s late brother River Phoenix, †23, was born in August 2020. Their second child was born last June, according to consistent media reports.
It remains to be seen whether the two stars will personally comment on the baby news. They try to keep their private lives out of the public eye as much as possible. The birth of their first child was not announced by them, but by the Russian filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky, who worked with Joaquin Phoenix on the documentary “Gunda”. “By the way, he just had a baby,” he said at the Zurich Film Festival, adding: “A beautiful boy called River.”
