João Palhinha ‘applauded’ Eduardo Quaresma’s performance against FC Porto (2-0). At the end of the match, the 21-year-old centre-back, who replaced Coates in Sporting’s eleven, published a photograph of the classic on social media which received thousands of ‘likes’ and comments, including from colleagues and current teammates. Palhinha, for example, left an encouraging message.
“Huge kid! Sometimes life has a strange way of guiding us back to where we belong. The present and future are yours”, wrote the Fulham midfielder, who shared the dressing room with Quaresma at Sporting.
