João Monteiro Makes Television Debut as Tennis Commentator on Eleven Sports

In a short space of time, João Monteiro stopped being unknown to the vast majority of Portuguese people. First it was through his brother, Francisco, winner of Big Brother who he accompanied to all the galas, then through the media’s relationship with Cristina Ferreira.

And now the former national tennis champion seems to want to follow in his girlfriend’s footsteps and shows signs of having been bitten by the television bug. João will be commenting on the WTA semi-finals, women’s tennis circuit on the sports channel ‘Eleven Sports’. “Steve Grácio and I will be watching the San Diego WTA semi-finals later on Eleven Sports. See you soon”João wrote on his Instagram account.

Remember that he was in the USA last month because of this modality, returning to Portugal just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with TVI’s Director of Entertainment and Fiction.

In addition to the presenter’s boyfriend, her brother Francisco also dreams of the world of television. He said it openly in an interview with ‘Cristina’ magazine when questioned by Cristina Ferreira, his “sister-in-law”. The young man from Porto says he discovered his talent.

And it seems that his wish is an order: little by little, the television works are appearing: he has already sat twice in the commentators’ chair for this ‘Desafio Final’ and, alongside Márcia Soares, presented the format ‘Desafio Final – The Week’, broadcast on Saturday mornings.

Now, your name is starting to be mentioned for bigger projects. There are even those who believe that Zaza, as he is known, could take the place that Fanny Rodrigues could vacate in ‘Somos Portugal’.
