Barcelona have been on a roll of late and on Saturday the team picked up their sixth straight win when Cadiz provided the opposition.
The only goal of the match was scored by Joao Felix. With just over ten minutes left until the break, a corner was headed towards the far post. There, the Portuguese cycle-kicked the ball into the net.
– He gets pushed and pulled, but still manages to put it there. It is impressive, said Fotbollkanalen’s columnist Siavoush Fallahi in Fotbollsörðag Europa.
In connection with the goal, Cadiz Isaac Carcelén tried to film himself a free kick. He went for the head even though Felix never even came close to kicking him in that area.
– It is embarrassing. It would have been smart before VAR, but that’s embarrassing, Fallahi said.
TV4’s expert commentator Vicki Blommé on the situation:
– He has to face the back in such cases. It must be an attempt. It was embarrassing, she said on the broadcast.
Cadiz had chances to equalize in the second act, but Barcelona held out.
– We played very well. It’s not an easy arena to get to, but we worked hard and deserved three points, says Felix in an interview after the match.
Barcelona are second in La Liga, eight points clear of leaders Real Madrid. They meet in El Clasico next week. In between, the second leg between Barcelona and PSG is played in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Cadiz is in the relegation zone.
