Joao Felix after saving Portugal against Ghana and ‘fulfilling his childhood dream’: My mother must have had a stroke | Soccer

Joao Felix scored Portugal’s last two goals in their difficult 3-2 victory over Ghana, at the start of the sides’ campaign in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, so the lights came on for him and the journalists from international newspapers gathered around him to hear his statements after the match.

Felix scored the second goal for Portugal and set up the third for Rafael Leao, after Cristiano Ronaldo opened the team’s doors.

Al-Jazeera Net was among those in attendance and Felix said, in response to a question about his first World Cup goal: “Scoring in my first World Cup match was a childhood dream come true. I feel very comfortable and happy. I always try to help the club, and here is my country’s national team. People think it makes things easy (about my team on the pitch) and it’s not real. I always do my job and I do my best to make our fans happy.”

The Atletico Madrid forward described the goal at the World Cup: “It’s a moment of great joy. I just remember my family and friends. I thought about them. I thought to myself, my mother must have had a stroke I dedicate the goal to all of them. All the teams in the World Cup are strong and there are no easy games.” But we have to make things easy.”

With this victory, Portugal topped Group H by 3 points, behind South Korea and Uruguay, each one point from tying together, and finally Ghana finished without points.
