Joan Gamper Cup: Barcelona beat Monaco 0-3

The Joan Gamper Cup brings together Barcelona with AS Monaco. In this game, the Blaugrana lost 0-3.

Barcelona vs Monaco took place at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, Tuesday (13/8/2024) early morning WIB. The hosts threatened in the early minutes through Pau Victor, but the effort was still not on target.

Breel Embola protested for a penalty when he was brought down in the Barça penalty box in the fourth minute. The referee thought it was not a break.

Barcelona threatened Monaco in the 15th minute. Robert Lewandowski’s shot was aimed at the goal, but was caught by goalkeeper Philipp Kohn.

Slowly Monaco is able to take more possession of the ball than Barcelona. A number of chances were also created, but did not result in goals.

Barcelona was able to break Monaco’s goal in the 37th minute through Raphinha. The referee disallowed the goal because it was offside.

The goal never came in the first half. Both teams had to settle for no goals at half-time.

Monaco lead 1-0 at the beginning of the second half or to be precise in the 50th minute. Lamine Camara got hold of the ball in front of the Barça penalty box and finished it as a goal.

Barcelona conceded again in the 57th minute. Embola escaped from an offside position and finished the goal with a shot from close range. 2-0 Monaco leading.

Barcelona missed a golden opportunity in the 70th minute. Pau Victor’s shot from close range went wide of the goal.

Monaco increased their lead to 3-0 in the 80th minute. Ben Seghir scored a goal with a shot inside the penalty box which was directed into the corner of the goal.

Barcelona did not manage to score in the rest of the second half. Hansi Flick’s troops also had to concede a 0-3 defeat.
