Clarisse Agbegnenou managed to take revenge from Rio and won his first gold medal at the Olympics, this Tuesday, July 27, in Tokyo. It thus adds a line to an already very prestigious track record.
A first European title at 16
Clarisse Agbegnenou, then graduated from the Martial Arts of Asnières, began to forge a European track record in 2008. At the age of 16, she was European junior champion and vice-champion of France in -57 kg. The following year, she was crowned French champion in -63 kg (2009).
Five times European champion
The European Championships are doing well for Clarisse Agbegnenou. In 2013, she won her first gold medal, in -63 kg, in Budapest (Hungary). Four others will follow: 2014 in Montpellier, 2017 in Tel Aviv (against Slovenian Trstenjak…, whom she has just beaten in Tokyo), 2018 in Baku and 2020 in Prague.

Five times world champion
Clarisse Agbegnenou obtains her first world title in 2014, in Tchelibinsk, a year after the silver of the Worlds in Rio. Then she will string together titles in 2017 in Budapest, in 2018 in Baku, in 2019 in Tokyo (already in gold in Japan …) and 2021 in Budapest.
