JO 2024: Cotton Division, Pantin SME, official supplier of licensed products for the Games

The premises are discreet, on Avenue du Général Leclerc in Pantin, yet it is in this SME with around thirty employees that the Paris Games branded products that are currently selling so well were designed. In 2020, Cotton Division won the tender concerning textiles and accessories under JOP license. The company already had a thick catalog of licenses in the entertainment sector (manga, Marvel, Disney or Universal), but this is an opportunity for it to expand its range in the world of sport.

At the end of July, all the staff are still at work.We are all heresmiles the boss, Sandeep Narayan, on the other hand, if you come in September, there will be no one!“For orders placed before the Games, the t-shirts, caps and rain ponchos were manufactured and printed in Asia. Restocking, however, is being prepared in Seine-Saint-Denis.”We just received an order for 4,000 mugs, which we don’t have in stock. We’re going to start production here, we’ll receive the white dishes, we’ll do the marking, the packaging. We can deliver within 24 to 48 hours.” explains the business leader.

The culmination of several years of work

A graphic designer at Cotton Division, Mélanie Jacquet started from a base of drawings provided by the International Olympic Committee: “I had to present a scenario on the computer, then we proposed samples, materials. At each stage, it has to be validated by them, they are very precise“. Jill Le Berre Anderson, responsible for production monitoring, also had to work with the very strict specifications provided by the IOC : “We’ve been working on it for 3-4 years, it’s normal, we want to have quality products that reflect the beauty of the event we’re experiencing.“.

Another difficulty with the project: the Games last a little more than fifteen days, beyond which, the branded products may no longer be in demand. We must be able to supply points of sale that request it on a daily basis, that’s new for us.“, Jill explains. But the young woman does not hide her pleasure in participating, in her own way, in the party: “It is very satisfying to see our products in store and to see them appreciated and worn.“.
