In the attic of the JLC stars’ newly purchased house, an unexpected treasure was found.

Artisans found gold bars and platinum to the value of eleven million kroner, according to GP.

Now a legal battle is raging over who actually owns the precious ewes.

The big gold find in the attic came as a big shock to Lucas Simonsson31, and Carl Déman31, from the comedy group JLC.

Last summer they started a new company with the aim of managing properties. Shortly afterwards, they bought a house in Mölndal for SEK 7.8 million, where the plan is to rent out apartments in the property.

The house was to be completely renovated and in a hidden space the craftsmen found ten kilos of gold and five kilos of platinum worth around eleven million kroner.

This according to information to Gothenburg Post who was the first to report the gold find.

Now a legal dispute rages over who actually owns the gold and platinum – the comedy duo, the seller or the craftsmen who made the million-dollar find?

Several want to get their hands on the gold find

The find has been handed over to the police and an investigation into serious money laundering was launched, but the preliminary investigation has now been closed. The public prosecutor believes that it is a “very old hiding place”.

– I can state that there is no reason to suspect crime. If there was any crime, it is ancient and time-barred a long time ago. I intended to lift the seizure. But a number of claimants to the confiscated goods have emerged, says the prosecutor James of Rice till GP.

The JLC profiles have submitted a request to the district court where they want the findings to be handed over to them. But there are more people who think they are entitled to the gold tax.

Both the seller of the house and the craftsmen who found the million dollar find want to get their hands on the gold.

The seller believes that the find must belong to the person’s dead parents. A gold bar from the mother’s estate with the same serial number as the gold in the attic has been submitted as evidence.

“Up to the right to decide”

A hearing in the case was held on Monday in the Gothenburg district court.

– In all probability, it will be ordered that it be handed over to the person from whom it was taken, says the prosecutor and refers to how the law looks, says chamber prosecutor James of Rice till GP.

If this is the case, it means that the find will be handed over to the current owners, i.e. Déman and Simonsson. The findings are kept by the Bailiff until the dispute is settled in the district court.

Aftonbladet has been in contact with JLC, who state that they do not want to comment further. However, through their property company, they have told GP that:

“Neither the previous owner, the finders nor we knew it was there, how long it has been there or who has placed it there, it is up to the court to decide who it belongs to”.
