JK Simmons had one hard demand to return to the ‘Spider-Man’ universe

Fans were over the moon when at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) suddenly J.K. Simmons briefly appeared as Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson.

We had the character since Spider-Man 3 (2007) has not been seen since and it was a welcome surprise, especially when it was announced that Simmons would take the role for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home will play again and now with a larger share.

According to the latest reports, however, he now proposes a different version from another universe and that is partly why MARVEL wanted to redesign him in appearance. We already saw that Jameson has a bald head this time, but there was one thing that Simmons permanently refused; shaving off the iconic mustache.

Are they screwed up
“They said ‘No, we don’t want you to have that flat haircut’ and I was like ‘Wait, wait, wait. What’? It was still a negotiation at the time, but the most important thing for me is of course that he is still is just as cheeky and has that same f*cking mustache with a fat cigar underneath”!

This isn’t the only superhero franchise that has brought Simmons on board to return. He has also confirmed that he will reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon in the Batman spin-off Batgirl on HBO Max.
