Defender Jiří Říha, with whom Vsetín terminated his contract some time ago due to his health problems, will strengthen the second division favorite from Tábor.
Let us remind you that Říh suffered a serious intestinal problem in the summer, due to which he had to miss almost the entire 2020/2021 season.
This time, however, the break from hockey will not be so long. Říh’s health has improved and he could soon start a match for second division Tábor.
The Roosters will let him get in shape first, he has been training with the team since Monday. “I’m really happy for the opportunity, I appreciate it and take it as a new challenge that I’m really looking forward to,” reports the 31-year-old defender in an interview for Tábor’s club website.

Říha will play in the third highest competition for the first time ever. He spent most of his career in the Chance league, where he broke records with his performances in Jihlava or Kladno. He was ranked among the best defenders in the history of the first league, he still holds the scoring record among defenders to this day: in the regular season of 2016/2017, he scored a phenomenal twenty goals.

His career was quite complicated by ulcerative colitis, but last year he was able to return to the top of the first league again – at Vsetín he impressed with 27 points in 48 games.
Now a new challenge awaits him – with Tábor, where he will form a stellar axis of defense with Karel Plášil and Jakub Suchánek, he wants promotion.
