A popular well-known actor who became famous mainly for his film Snowboarders, Jiří Mádl, publishes a book! His latest venture, his debut novel The attraction of the planet Krypton, discusses the unusual relationship between two young people, Martin and Veronika, who correspond in virtual space. The story is lined with topics such as finding a home, awakening sexuality or love.
“Martin has something of me”
How did the idea come about? “I don’t really know how I thought,” Jirka laughs in an interview for eXtra.cz at the book launch in the Karlín Café Kavárna. “I came up with the story and I thought it might be filming, but that as a book it would be stronger. There are certain elements that can be expressed in literature better than film. The desire to write a book has been around for a long time, I knew that I’ll write,” betrayed. The whole process from the first idea to the release took about two and a half years.
And where did Jirka look for inspiration? “That character Veronica, it’s such a mix, I’d say, three girls I knew and they were something important to me, so I combined them into this character. Martin certainly has some of me, but it’s not an autobiographical book,” explains. “MI think that every author somehow draws from himself and the people he meets. There is a lot here as well. Martin grows up in České Budějovice, then studies in Kremsmünster, where I also studied. Somehow it’s there, the things I’ve experienced, ” lets look into the action.
Amorous Mádl
Despite the fact that certain parts of the story are derived from the facts that Jiří experienced, the readers will not find the actor’s privacy in the book. “Rather not. It may be something I would have liked, but I’m not sure.” Laughs. He was the first to have the book read to his beautiful girlfriend Andrian.
She accompanied him at the baptism itself and they just shone by their side. The couple is doing perfectly in the relationship, as Jirka himself confirmed in an interview for eXtra.cz. “I am doing well in all relationships. I’m satisfied. I am satisfied for a long time. When I was little, I decided to be happy and I succeed. ” Jirka delights.
She has been with the beautiful Adrijana, a stylist with Serbian roots, for less than a year. They first appeared together in public at a party after the premiere of the film The Modern Photo Diary, which informed the eXtra.cz newsroom. Since then, their relationship has shifted and Jiří has introduced his half to his family. Maybe she will be the one! Hrdličky also shares a common passion, as Adrijana is dedicated to film and theater. She even helped Jirka with the already mentioned book.
