Jin Air’s Busan-Okinawa Route: Temporary Operations and Passenger Inconvenience

As Jin Air’s Busan-Okinawa route planned for the end of this month becomes difficult, passengers who have already booked flights are expected to experience inconvenience.

According to the aviation industry on the 17th, Jin Air will not be able to operate the Busan-Okinawa round-trip route for the time being, which it was planning to launch 7 times a week (daily) on the 29th, when the winter schedule begins. Jin Air explains that it is difficult to operate flights every day at Naha Airport in Okinawa due to a lack of capacity for flight attendants.

Since Jin Air decided to operate this route last August and began accepting flight reservations, about 1,500 passengers have made reservations until recently. When Jin Air announced the possibility of non-operation of the route earlier this month, passenger complaints poured in on portal sites, travel cafes, and blogs.

Accordingly, Jin Air decided to temporarily operate 13 flights on the Busan-Okinawa route until December 4 for passengers with reservations.

The company explained that the 13 temporary flights will be equipped with a B-787 aircraft with 189 seats, which can accommodate all 1,500 people who have made reservations. Whether to operate after December 5th will be confirmed through consultation with the local fishing company.

Passengers with reservations can choose one of these flights or switch to the Incheon-Okinawa route previously operated by Jin Air. If you want to change to another flight or cancel altogether, all fees are waived.
