Jimi Hendrix’s latest recordings will be released thanks to a deal between the company run by the legendary musician’s sister and Universal Music, reported Female First.
Jimi Hendrix’s sister, Janie, is now in the studio to transfer Band of Gypsies recordings that have never been released. The contract with Universal Music provides that the company will be the exclusive administrator of Jimi Hendrix’s catalog worldwide except in the United States for the next five years. Janie Hendrix hopes that this will increase interest in her brother’s work. The Experience Hendrix company, run by Janie, is also preparing to release a CD and DVD of live performances of the Jimi Hendrix Experience from the Royal Albert Hall in February 1969. BTA
