JICT maximizes digital services to reduce terminal congestion

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The largest container terminal in Indonesia, the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) optimizes digital services using a system called “JICT Appointment System for Truck (JASforT)” to reduce service congestion in the Terminal.

JICT President Director Ade Hartono said the system would make it easier for truck companies to get loading and unloading services “Lift on and Lift off” (Lo-Lo) in the terminal and share activities “receiving/delivery” so as not to concentrate on one particular time.

“So far, service users have only known JICT as a container loading and unloading terminal, then we want to introduce JICT more than that. We want to offer a more comprehensive logistics service solution,” Ade said in his statement in Jakarta, Friday.

Later bookings can be made by truck companies by accessing the digital service before leaving for the JICT Terminal.

Thus, it is hoped that it will reduce service density at the terminal because trucks that usually fill or are crowded at the terminal at night can be served at a more flexible time. This is because the company has previously “booked” the service.

Currently, JICT’s commitment is to provide easy service to service users in the logistics sector who use container services. With JASforT, Ade hopes that shipping companies, trucks, terminal operators and the community around the port can benefit.

“So if service users choose JICT, then they will get services that are more than just loading and unloading at the dock, but also services in the field using trucks and other systems,” said Ade.
