“Jiang Ziya” takes the lead in appearing to inspire children to pursue their dreams
According to Hangzhou Daily, ten major troupes from all over the country jointly announced at the Zhejiang Dialect Art Theater that they will jointly create ten stage works of the “Fengshen” series to build a “heroic universe” for Chinese children.
At the press conference that day, representatives from ten troupes including Zhejiang Performing Arts Zhejiang Children’s Art Troupe, Liaoning People’s Art Theater, Beijing Children’s Art Theater, and Sichuan People’s Art Theater took the stage to meet with the famous soul figure of the “Fengshen” series. Playwright Lin Yongjun jointly opened the huge scroll of the “Fengshen Series” and announced that ten stage works of the “Fengshen” series will be released to audiences across the country this year. This means that Nuwa, Jiang Ziya, Erlang Shen, Nezha… these familiar mythological characters will be vividly presented on the stage through the re-creation of artists.
That night, “Jiang Ziya of the Gods” produced by Zhejiang Children’s Art Theater took the lead in its trial performance at the Zhejiang Dialect Art Theatre. “This is a person who bloomed late and has been waiting for the opportunity for a long time.” Director Guo Hongbo said of Jiang Ziya in the play. He said that there are thousands of people in our world, and they are actually like Jiang Ziya, with infinite possibilities within them. “I hope this drama can inspire children to find their own place and shine their own light.”
The entire drama integrates modern dance, Chinese opera, martial arts, magic and other art forms. The actors used wonderful performances to inject new vitality into the classic story. In addition, the creative performance method is particularly impressive. Only the superposition and combination of simple props such as tables and chairs create the momentum of thousands of troops on the stage.
At the end of the performance, the audience gave a warm round of applause. Some parents who accompanied their children to watch the show said that the performance triggered their reflection on family education.
