Jeweler seriously injured after robbery, two suspects arrested

The police arrested two Amsterdammers aged 22 and 27 on suspicion of involvement in a robbery of a jeweler in Katwijk (South Holland). The store owner was seriously injured in the robbery; he was hit on the head with a hammer.

A bystander tried to help the jeweler, but got a firearm pointed at him. The jeweler has been taken to hospital. It is not known how he is doing or whether the robbers took loot.

The suspected perpetrators used a stolen scooter for their robbery. Items of clothing belonging to the suspects were found on the escape route.
