Jets: Haason Reddick finally returns

Haason Reddick’s strike is finally over. ESPN announces that the pass rusher has agreed to join the team and start its season.

Apparently his contract has not been changed. The two camps just agreed to cancel the $12 million fine accumulated by the player because of his absence.

For the rest, he would still be signed for one season and $14.25 million. The player’s agents also specify that they will continue to work on a longer-term agreement with the Jets.

Haason Reddick, a strong internal reinforcement

Haason Reddick obviously too short to play this Sunday. He will therefore join his teammates on Monday. He will therefore begin his 2024 campaign in Week 8, on Sunday October 27.

If he gets back into shape quickly, he will be a strong reinforcement for a Jets defense that is sometimes on alternating current this season. The 30-year-old was a second-team All-Pro in 2022, and a Pro Bowler in 2023.

He has had at least 11 sacks per season for four years. Last year, it was 11 in 17 games for Philadelphia, who traded him to the Jets during the offseason.

Since then, he hasn’t shown up for training or matches because he wanted a new contract. To the point that there was even talk of a trade without him having played a single game for the Jets. Ultimately, he will play well for the Jets, having achieved nothing yet.
