The Jetour brand belonging to Chery holding launched in Russia official site. At first glance, it looks cute, but its content turned out to be a funny surprise. It seems that the company saved money by using the method of machine translation popular with Chinese auto brands in the 2000s.

So far, the beautiful images of cars on the Jetour website are accompanied by captions like “comfortable driving with an innovative SUV system”, “panoramic parking”, “understand your world” and so on. And the words themselves are rather chaotically transferred from one line to another.
The situation is similar with kits. For example, the Jetour X90 Plus lists “extra-long warranty of 150,000 for 5 years”, “electric defrosting rear windshield”, “number of speakers (non-Sony)” and so on. The Dashing configuration looks even more incomplete and can make you laugh with the phrases “Smart Shentong”, “Safe Shentong”, “Wise Key to the Rubik’s Cube” and so on. Apparently, the configurations were simply taken from a Chinese site and run through a machine translation program. At the same time, the ERA-GLONASS system is still indicated in all configurations.

You can already download the user manual for the X90 Plus and Dashing crossovers on the site. In fairness, we note that they seem to have been touched by the translator’s hand – there are an order of magnitude fewer funny incidents. However, the guidelines need to be improved. For example, the phrase “tailgate with engine” should be corrected.
What information can be found on the site?
Obviously, the Jetour site in Russia is far from complete. However, we can highlight a number of interesting facts about the brand’s cars.

Jetour X90 Plus, judging by the configurator, may be available for purchase in four trim levels and two motors to choose from. The “junior” engine turned out to be the 1.6-liter SQRF4J16, familiar to us from a number of Exeed, Chery and Omoda cars. The configuration indicates that its power will reach 197 hp. And the role of the senior engine will be tried on by a 2-liter internal combustion engine with a capacity of 254 hp. This is SQRF4J20, familiar to us from Exeed VX, Exeed TXL and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max. Both engines are paired with a 7-speed “robot”. Drive – only front. Apparently, later the power of the motors will be adjusted.
Jetour Dashing will receive as many as 6 complete sets and two motors. The first is a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine with a capacity of 156 hp. And the second is the already mentioned 1.6-liter unit for 197 “horses”. The gearbox can be either manual or robotic. Drive – only front. Again, later the parameters of the power plants with a high degree of probability will be revised.

For obvious reasons, we did not delve into the functional equipment. Most likely, in the future, the number of trim levels and the information indicated in them will be greatly revised. This can happen after the completion of the certification of these vehicles.

Recall that, according to our information, Jetour X90 (our informant insisted on the absence of a “plus” in the name, and it was X90 that was previously noticed in Moscow) and Dashing will become available for purchase in March or April this year. A Chinese Automobile source previously said that Dashing will be valued at 2.2 million rubles, and the X90 will cost about 4 million.
In the future, the model line can replenish two more SUVs – X70 and X70 Plus. It is possible that Jetour T-1 will also come to the Russian market later. It is also known about the company’s plans to start work in Kazakhstan and Belarus.
