JetBlue Airbus A320 Faces Extreme Turbulence During Florida Landing – 8 Injured

A type aircraft Airbus A320 operated by the airline JetBlue experienced extreme turbulence while making landfall in Florida, United States of America (US), earlier this week. At least eight people were injured and had to be rushed to local hospitals after the plane successfully landed.

As reported Associated PressTuesday (26/9/2023), JetBlue airline in its statement said that flight number 1256 took off from Guayaquil, Ecuador, heading to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida on Monday (25/9) local time when the incident occurred.

It said the plane was making a landing shortly after 05.00 am local time when it ‘suddenly encountered severe turbulence on approach to Florida’.

The eight victims injured in this incident reportedly consisted of seven passengers and one flight crew.

The injured victims, JetBlue said, had been taken by paramedics to local hospitals to undergo treatment and medical evaluation.

However, JetBlue said it could not comment on the condition of the injured victims. It is not clear whether the injured victims were wearing seat belts correctly when the severe turbulence occurred.
