In the face of multiple accusations against him and his companies for alleged links to drug trafficking, shared in recent days through social media, businessman Jesús Vizcarra Calderón finally spoke out and rejected each of the accusations.
In a statement, the owner of Salud Digna and SuKarne said that the comments about the companies that belong to him began when he decided to enter political activity, that is, more than 22 years ago.
“The clear objective of these lies was my own political activity and competition, in which I learned that sometimes there are no limits to denigration and slander in order to gain power. I never imagined that my personal decision to participate in public service would subject me and my family to such experiences (sic),” he said.
Along those lines, he pointed out that in his more than 50 years of work, not a single cent of illicit origin has entered any of the companies with which he or his family have been associated.
“They dare to insult, without the slightest reservation, our greatest social initiative, the Salud Digna diagnostic clinic chain, to which I have dedicated time, emotion and resources for more than 20 years and which, in addition to being one of my greatest prides and commitments to transcendence for the good of others, represents an opportunity for better health and quality of life for more than 18 million people annually in Mexico and Central America,” he said.

Regarding the accusations against the company SuKarne, which has been accused without foundation by social media users of laundering drug money, he warned:
“These accusations, made out of ignorance or bad faith, affect my family, our more than 30,000 collaborators, advisors, as well as SuKarne, which for 55 years has operated in strict compliance with national and international laws and regulations, raising the name of Mexico in markets on four continents.
With great pride, but above all with hard work, we have built the first and largest Mexican meat exporting company and have come to represent the main continuous income for more than 200 thousand families.”
Additionally, Vizcarra said he held his head high and condemned the stigma against Sinaloa.
“I hold my head high, I am proudly from Sinaloa and as such, I reject and deplore any esteem that denigrates us.”

On the other hand, Vizcarra confirmed that on July 25, the day Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada was arrested along with Joaquín Guzmán López in El Paso, Texas, his plane was used by Governor Rubén Rocha Moya to travel to Los Angeles, California.
“The flight made by the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, in the aircraft of Servicios Ejecutivos Aéreos Viz, was requested and granted due to the friendship with his family, which dates back 28 years,” he wrote.
It should be remembered that, as revealed by the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel through a letter, on the day of his arrest he was summoned by the son of Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán to resolve a conflict between Rocha Moya and the former rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS), Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda.
However, the state leader denied having any ties to drug trafficking or having been invited to the meeting.
As for the accusations against Vizcarra, who was also mayor of Culiacán (2008-2010) and PRI gubernatorial candidate in 2010, no criminal activity has ever been proven against him.
