When the corona crisis shut down the world, Jessica Pritchard (31) was looking forward to becoming a mother. One and a half years later, she has four small cubs.
Now the descendants have become young people
– This year has been a whirlwind, she says and laughs.
The 31-year-old from Sheffield in the UK has not had much sleep lately, but she is not complaining.

– We are incredibly lucky, she says simply.
In May last year, little Mia May (1) was born, and Jessica enjoyed life as a new mother. Still on maternity leave, she discovered that something was not right in October. It turned out that she was pregnant again.

Could not speak
The joy was on the roof of Jessica and her husband Harry Williams (34), they liked the idea of giving Mia a sibling who was only one year younger.
But little did they know what was in store…

Due to corona restrictions, Jessica had to go for an ultrasound alone.
– The midwife said it was twins. It was a shock. But then she continued to look, saying that she had found a third fetus. Then I could not speak, says Jessica.
– I can not lift my baby
She waited until she got home before telling Harry the good news – but he thought she was kidding until she showed a printout of the ultrasound image.

Eventually she also managed to take the news with a grain of salt.
– It was a shock. But it is a blessing to get pregnant, so we feel very blessed, she says.
– Our girl will always be tiny
Born prematurely
The pregnancy went well until the triplets were 31 weeks old. Then they wanted to go out and meet the world – just 11 months after big sister Mia May.
Everything was fine with them, except that they were small. Seven weeks later, they were discharged from the neonatal ward and allowed to return home.

Now Jessica and Harry have their hands full with the triplets Ella, George and Olivia, and one-year-old Mia May.
– Now our boy needs a new heart
– The meals are “fun”, because all four of them get hungry at the same time, Jessica laughs.
– And in addition, there are an incredible number of diapers that need to be changed. I just have to use my time well. Luckily I’m a pretty organized person, she concludes.
