Jessica Chastain will receive the Golden Icon Award for her contribution to the film industry at the upcoming Zurich Film Festival. The 46-year-old actress is in Switzerland for her new film Memory to promote.
Chastain has been active as an actress since 2004, but her big break came with her role in The Help (2011). For this she was nominated for an Oscar.
A year later she received another nomination, for her role in Zero Dark Thirty. She eventually won her first Oscar in 2022, for her leading role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. She also appeared in well-known films such as Interstellar in It Chapter Two.
In Memory stars Chastain as a woman whose life revolves around her daughter, her job and her AA meetings. When a man (Peter Sarsgaard) follows her home, her life is suddenly turned upside down. Sarsgaard recently won the best actor award at the Venice Film Festival for his role in Memory.
The Zurich Film Festival takes place from September 28 to October 8. The Golden Icon Award presentation is on October 1. Previously, Glenn Close, Hugh Grant, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone have won the prize.
