Almost eight years ago took Jessica Alba (39) a break from the acting profession in favor of starting their own business. That’s when she launched “The Honest Company” – a company that largely specializes in organic baby and beauty products.
Now the Hollywood star reveals that the main reason why she took the step away from the spotlight is because of the kids, writes Daily Mail.
– I regret the butt tattoo
In and out of hospital
In a new interview with the magazine Romper, Alba, known from films such as “Into the Blue”, “Fantastic Four” and “Sin City”, shares that she herself was a very sick child who was in and out of hospital for a number of years.
For this reason, she has had a strong desire to be present as much as possible for her own kids; Honor (12), Haven (9) and Hayes (3), who she has with her husband Cash Warren (42).
– I grew up with a chronic illness. I had five surgeries before I turned 11 years old. I had chronic allergies and was very often hospitalized as a child, she explains to the magazine, according to Daily Mail.
When she became a mother for the first time in 2008, she was one of the hottest names in Hollywood. But still, the 39-year-old admits that the birth gave her a whole new outlook on life.
– My motivation was not: “Will I ever be hired again?” Honestly, I was at the peak of my career at the time, she shares, and continues:
– I could not go back to what I had done before and be authentic. I just could not. I did not care in the same way anymore.
“Degrading”
Four years later, in 2012, she chose to focus on entrepreneurship and launched “The Honest Company”. Alba has nevertheless been seen in film roles after this, but not to nearly as great an extent as before.
Two years ago, the star also revealed that the acting industry affected her in a negative way.
