Leeds –
Leeds United already have a new manager Marcelo Bielsa. As reported, Jesse March is the person.
Leeds announced the appointment of Marsch on Tuesday (1/3/2022) early in the morning WIB or one day after Bielsa’s dismissal. Marsch has agreed to a 3.5-year contract until 2025.
Marsch only needs to complete a work permit from the British Government to be able to immediately lead team training.
“We are delighted to welcome Jesse to the club and can’t wait to see him lead the team into a new phase,” said Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta on the club’s official website.
“Jesse is one of the candidates we have been pursuing since he was at Red Bull Salzburg and we believe his philosophy and style of play is in line with the club and will suit the players,” continued Orta.
“We have long term plans and believe he can take Leeds United to the next level and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
What is certain is that Marsch has an uphill task to resurrect the dilapidated Leeds this season. The Whites have lost their last four games with just two goals and 17 goals conceded!
Whereas last season Bielsa was able to bring Leeds to a ninth finish and display attractive football that made fans chuckle in awe. However, this style of play has had an impact when many of his players have taken turns getting injured this season.
Jesse March he last coached RB Leipzig at the start of the season, but was sacked in December due to the team’s poor form. Marsch from the United States has two Austrian League titles while coaching Red Bull Salzburg,
Marsch’s debut match is likely to be when Leeds United face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on 5 March.
