While many supported Lingard to return to his best level, perhaps many did not think that he would have such an instant impact and would play as if he had not been out of the desert these past few years.
It was Lingard’s tremendous effort that opened the scoring for the Hammers before his quick thinking sent Jarrod Bowen advancing for his team’s second.

Champions League football or not Champions League football, one thing is for sure, Lingard has made a huge impact on this prosperous West Ham team.
Many of his fans will hope to be able to hire him permanently, but much of that will depend on what the Old Trafford men want to do.
If they’re happy to move it around, then there’s no question that London Stadium will be their first destination once again, but until then, they’ll be enjoying their presence on the side.
