On Sunday morning, Jerv came with the news that the Faroese midfielder Sonni Nattestad became the club’s first signing as an Elite Series team. Then came the reactions – and a few hours later the agreement was a thing of the past.
On Sunday evening, Jerv stated the following reason for terminating the agreement.

Monday morning, Jerv coach Arne Sandstø takes the magazine from his mouth around the agreement that probably makes Nattestad the shortest transition agreement in Norwegian football.
– The whole thing is really quite simple. We are all aware of the main issue, but it is much more comprehensive than we had thought. When we then announced that we were in dialogue with Sonni, there were good supporters of the club and good friends who came with some information that we had not obtained in our process. Then we as a club believe that it is not right to proceed with the agreement, Sandstø says to Discovery.
Sandstø will not go into whether it is specifically the incident that is the reason why the transition did not happen. He says he does not know enough about the case as a whole to talk about it.
– It shows that in the process around the transfer we have not had enough information about the player. So I think we are doing the right thing in withdrawing from the agreement, says Sandstø.
– Should have known
Sandstø has previously said that they do a thorough job of mapping out whether the players they pick up have the right mentality and that they fit into the club and the player group.
– Should not you – given what you have said before have known about this information in advance?
– We do not disagree that we should have known more, but somewhere along the way we have thought more than we had known, so we should have been more thorough, the Jerv coach explains.
He says that it is the “total” that causes them to withdraw from the agreement, and that it would have been wrong for them as a club to have proceeded with the agreement according to the information that emerged. Sandstø says that the reactions to the agreement came fairly quickly after they announced the agreement.
– They came fast. We have used a number of channels in advance that have not seen what we have not seen either, but when this came out and was announced, we are very happy that we have good friends who come with good advice, but we would like talked to them before this happened, says Sandstø.
He says that the player was not in place in Norway, and that he and his representatives took the counter message with understanding.
Must pick up quality
Sandstø is aware that more players will come to Levermyr during the winter, and that the Brann match showed that they need quality.
– We have to get more. Although we are not going to put too much into the Brann match, the first ninety minutes there gave a good picture of the difference in pace. Now we have to work with the group we have to acquire the pace we need, at the same time as we have to bring in quality. Then we will get closer, says the Bergen man in southern exile.
In recent years, Jerv has brought in a number of players who have been undescribed magazines for most people in and around Norwegian football. They must continue to do so.
– Our strategy is forcing itself forward. We can not compete with most in the Elite Series on economics. There is an extremely large difference. Some of the established players are expensive in terms of salary and sign-on, and we can not participate in that carousel, but even if those we watch have not played in the Elite Series, the situation is such that we can get players from higher level who have not played in the Elite Series, Sandstø believes.
